Traveling to different studios across the US allows me to really see what kids are being offered in dance. I can honestly say that BDT has fulfilled the criteria where most schools lack in so many ways. They provide this incredible environment for kids to be pushed and challenged in a positive way. Teaching for them was not only a fun experience, it was also refreshing. I love feeding off of the energy their students give. They all seem hungry to learn and enthusiastic about dance. I was really able to throw them a new style of choreography and they were excited to perfect it. I commend the staff of BDT for having a strict and enjoyable curriculum. Hard work 0A pays off and you can tell by the example led within their studio. Keep up the good work guys and continue pushing forward. All the best and "Cool Beans!"

Although there are many places to take extra-curricular dance classes in our community, there is only one place in Birmingham that can offer a dance education. I feel so fortunate to offer this education to my daughter! BDT provides B’ham a little slice of NY with its talented instructors and awesome facility. The technique that is developed, the genres studied, and the creative choreography – there is nowhere that compares! I have watched BDT evolve since the day I stepped in the studio as a student in 1973. I am now watching my family’s third generation bene fit from BDT’s commitment to dance. Not to mention, the lifelong friendships made at BDT by me, my nieces, and now my daughter! BDT- I am proud to be a part!

Growing up at Birmingham Dance Theatre was one of the best experiences I could have ever wished for! Looking back there is absolutely nothing I would change about my dance experience. I am so blessed to have grown up learning from nothing but the best. I now have friends that will last a lifetime and experiences I will never forget. Each one of my mentors had something new to teach me, whether it was about dance, or life in general. Every time I took a step into the studio I knew I would walk out with new found knowledge. Not only did my understanding about dance, technique, and personal style develop immensely, but my passion for dance grew beyond what I ever expected. Understanding that there was more behind dancing than just the steps changed my view not only towards dance but has carried on with me in everyday life. Allie Raymond
I'm the mother of 2 daughter's, 25 &16. Since our oldest was 4 years old, we have been proud member's of the BDT family. The discipline, time management, friendships & competitive spirit, they have gained from their time at BDT is priceless. Not only are these skill's important in the dance world, but are assets, to be used in all aspects of life.
